To all those who’ve journeyed with Conservative Tours to the D Day Beaches you understand how we craft an event like this. Our goal is to savoir the beauty and exquisite culture of three European countries while also plunging into the not-so-distant history of a movement and an ideology that almost succeeded in conquering Europe, including Great Britain & Joseph Stalin’s Soviet Union.

 

This tour adventure has been two years in the making and as with our similar events to Asia and Europe, it will be substantive historically and satisfyingly pleasurable, with great cities big and small, fine dining and elegant hotel properties for your lodging comfort and pleasure.

ITINERARY

Germany + Austria  + The Czech Republic May 10th – May 21st, 2026.

DAY 1: MUNICH ARRIVAL DAY (NYMPHENBURG PALACE)

Welcome in Munich, Germanys “secret capital”! With its exuberant atmosphere and vitality, Munich is one of Europe’s great cultural centres. Upon arrival, enjoy a brief introduction to the city of Munich and visit the magnificent Nymphenburg Palace, a stunning Baroque summer residence surrounded by beautiful gardens. Check in at your hotel in the afternoon.

In the evening, experience traditional Bavarian hospitality with a group dinner at the famous Hofbräuhaus, known for its lively atmosphere, hearty cuisine, and authentic beer hall culture.

 

DAY 2: HALF DAY TOUR MUNICH – THIRD REICH

In the morning meeting with your local guide and bus to follow the traces of the Third Reich, one of the darkest moments in the city’s history. Learn more about the emergence of Nazism, Hitler’s rise and the infamous Third Reich. Follow the rise of Nazism, from the first mass meeting at the Hofbrauhaus to the unsuccessful attempt to come to power in the Feldherrenhalle. Among other things walk to the scene of party meetings at Konigsplatz and stop in the Hofgarten to talk about the White Rose resistance group. Afternoon free time.

 

DAY 3: FULL DAY EXCURSION CASTLES LINDERHOF & NEUSCHWANSTEIN

Today you discover the palaces of Neuschwanstein and Linderhof, two of the most opulent castles, built by Ludwig II, the fairytale king of Bavaria. The excursion into the so-called “cleric” Pfaffenwinkel region includes a stop at Wieskirche, an amazing realisation of Bavarian Rococo art, and a guided tour of Linderhof castle, the king’s favorite castle surrounded by beautiful gardens and water fountains. You also visit the fairy-tale castle Neuschwanstein built by King Ludwig II on an imposing rock in the seclusion of the mountains. Close by are the old castle of Hohenschwangau and the crystal clear Alpsee Lake.

Your program also includes a stop in Oberammergau, famous for its woodcarvers and home to the famous passion play, held every 10 years for centuries. Oberammergau is noted for its attractive and beautifully painted houses, typical of Upper Bavaria.. The tour ends at your hotel in Munich.

 

DAY 4: EXCURSION TO DACHAU MEMORIAL SITE

Dachau was Germany‘s first concentration camp – a few weeks after Adolf Hitler had been appointed Reich Chancellor, a concentration camp for political prisoners was set up in Dachau. It served as a model for all later concentration camps and as a “school of violence” for the SS men under whose rule it stood. In the twelve years of its existence, over 200,000 people from all over Europe were imprisoned here and in numerous subcamps. 41,500 were murdered. On April 29, 1945, American troops liberated the survivors. Explore the remaining buildings and reconstructions and learn more about the biographies of former prisoners. Maintained by the German government as a memorial, Dachau will provide a rather vivid insight into this period in history.

DAY 5: FULL DAY EXCURSION……GARMISCH-PARTENKIRCHEN & ZUGSPITZE MOUNTAIN

Today you travel into the foothills of the Alps to Garmisch Partenkirchen. Enjoy a short break in this beautiful alpine town, set at the foot of Germany’s highest mountain, the Zugspitze. Capture stunning mountain views and traditional Bavarian charm – a perfect spot for memorable photos!

Continue to the valley station of the Zugspitze where you take the cable car to reach the top of the mountain in a few minutes. From Germany’s highest peak (2,962 m), enjoy a stunning 360° view of over 400 mountains across Germany, Austria, Switzerland, and Italy. across four countries. On clear days, you can see the Austrian Alps, the Dolomites in Italy, the Swiss Alps, and even as far as Munich to the north. Since December 2017, the modern Zugspitze cable car has been opening up the country’s highest mountain with maximum comfort for passengers. Two large-capacity cabins with floor-to-ceiling windows each offer space for up to 120 people to be transported in comfort to the top of the mountain. The descent takes place with the historic rack railway.

In the afternoon enjoy a relaxing visit to the charming town of Mittenwald, famous for its colorful frescoed houses and long tradition of violin making. Nestled in the Alps, it offers beautiful views, cozy cafés, and time to stroll through the picturesque old town.
After dinner in a local restaurant drive back to Munich where the tour ends at your hotel.

 

DAY 6: MUNICH – SALZBURG INCLUDING HOHENSALZBURG & MOZART HOUSE

After breakfast travel from Munich to the beautiful city of Salzburg, birthplace of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart and a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Upon arrival, begin your visit with a guided walk through the historic Old Town, famous for its baroque architecture, narrow alleyways, and charming squares. Stroll along the Getreidegasse, Salzburg’s most famous shopping street, and visit Mozart’s Birthplace, now a museum showcasing the life and works of the world-famous composer.

In the afternoon, ride the funicular up to the impressive Hohensalzburg Fortress, one of the largest and best-preserved medieval castles in Europe. Enjoy panoramic views over the city and the Alps and explore the museum exhibitions inside the fortress. In the evening enjoy Austrian specialties in a typical local restaurant.

 

DAY 7: FULL DAY EXCURSION TO THE EAGLE’S NEST & NS DOCUMENTATION CENTER OBERSALZBERG

Discover the beauty of the Bavarian Alps on a full-day trip from Salzburg to Berchtesgaden, a picturesque alpine town surrounded by stunning mountain scenery.

Experience history and breathtaking views at the Eagle’s Nest, perched high above Berchtesgaden at 1,834 meters. Originally built as a diplomatic retreat during the Nazi era, the site now serves as a historical monument and panoramic viewpoint. Reach the top via a spectacular mountain road and a unique brass elevator. At the summit, enjoy stunning views of the Bavarian and Austrian Alps, take time to explore the building or relax at the mountaintop restaurant. See Hitler’s marble mantelpiece where our soldiers chipped away a few souvenirs in May of 1945.

Afterwards, return to the Documentation Center Obersalzberg for a guided tour. This museum provides deep insight into the history of National Socialism and the role of Obersalzberg as Hitler’s mountain retreat. The exhibition includes original documents, photographs, and access to parts of the original underground bunker system.

After dinner in Berchtesgaden return to Salzburg, where the tour ends at your hotel.

 

DAY 8: SALZBURG – NÜRNBERG INCLUDING MEMORIUM NUREMBERG TRIALS

Today you leave Salzburg and continue to Nurnberg, a typical medieval town where visitors will find evidence of its 950 year history at every turn. After a lunch break enjoy a short visit of Nuremberg‘s historic city center with the Kaiserburg castle, the house of Albrecht Durer, Gothic churches, romantic houses and peaceful squares.

In the afternoon you visit the Memorium, located in the historic Palace of Justice, where the Nuremberg Trials against leading Nazi officials took place after World War II. The exhibition provides detailed insight into the background, proceedings, and legacy of the trials that helped shape modern international law. A highlight of this visit is Courtroom 600, where the main trials were held. When not in use by the judiciary, the courtroom is open to the public and part of the exhibition. Multimedia displays, original documents, and audio guides offer a powerful and informative experience of this significant chapter in world history. Check in at your hotel in Nürnberg.

 

DAY 9:   NÜRNBERG NAZI PARTY RALLY GROUNDS – PRAGUE IN THE CZECH REPUBLIC

In the morning after breakfast and checking out of your hotel visit the Nazi Party Rally Grounds in Nuremberg, one of the most significant historical sites of the Nazi era. Explore the vast grounds where large-scale propaganda events were held and learn about the architecture and ideology of the regime. Highlights may include the Congress Hall and other key locations on site.

After the visit and maybe a snack at the local Café Arthur, continue your journey to the Czech Republic and arrive in Prague in the late afternoon. The so-called city of a Hundred Spires proves to be a real gem of Central Europe where history and stunning architecture await you. In the evening, enjoy a group dinner at a traditional Czech restaurant, where you can taste local specialties and soak in the atmosphere of this beautiful historic city.

 

DAY 10: HALF DAY GUIDED VISIT OF PRAGUE INCLUDING BOAT CRUISE.

In the morning discover the beauty and history of Prague on a half-day guided tour of the city’s most iconic sights. The tour begins with a walk through the Old Town, where you’ll see landmarks such as the Astronomical Clock, Old Town Square, and the Charles Bridge. Continue through the Jewish Quarter and explore the charming streets filled with centuries of history. Then, enjoy a relaxing boat cruise on the Vltava River, offering unique views of Prague’s skyline, including Prague Castle, St. Vitus Cathedral, and the Charles Bridge from the water. Light refreshments are often served on board.

The tour provides a perfect introduction to the city’s rich cultural heritage, combining walking and cruising for a memorable experience.

Afternoon at leisure for own activities.

 

DAY 11: DEPARTURE DAY

After breakfast say Good Bye to Prague. Check out and transfer to Prague airport for departure flight home to USA.
